Round-robin lead assignment
Round-robin lead assignment hands new enquiries to colleagues in turn, so that every new enquiry has an owner straight away.

What does Round-robin lead assignment mean?
Round robin is the simplest rota: the first lead goes to Anna, the second to Ben, the third to Chris, the fourth back to Anna. Another common rule is that whoever has the fewest open items gets the next one.
The point of assignment is that no enquiry is left without an owner. A lead that arrived overnight and belongs to nobody is easily missed in the morning, because everyone assumes someone else is on it.
Why does it matter to a small business?
In a team of two or three salespeople the easiest leads often go to the same person while the rest wait. Assigning in turn is fair and transparent, and nobody has to hand out the work each morning. It also shows at once when someone is not dealing with the enquiries they were given.
What does it look like in practice?

Suppose a language school in Miskolc has three staff answering enquiries. Five sign-ups arrive through the website form in the evening: two go to Anna, two to Ben, one to Chris. Because Chris is on holiday the rota skips him, and his share goes to the other two as well.
How does HelloTeam CRM handle it?
Details
In HelloTeam an administrator sets up, under Settings → Distribute, whether colleagues receive contacts, deals and tickets arriving from outside in turn (round robin) or by fewest open items. Only people still employed receive, those on approved leave are skipped by default, and a record that already has an owner uses nobody's turn.
