Follow-up

In short

A follow-up is the agreed next step with a customer, such as a call or an email, scheduled after an earlier conversation or quote.

What does Follow-up mean?

Most sales are not decided in the first conversation. The customer thinks it over, checks with someone, or simply forgets the quote, and whoever gets back in touch on time wins the order.

A good follow-up has three parts: a specific time, an owner, and a short note of what was discussed. Without a time, "I'll call them back" rarely happens.

Why does it matter to a small business?

A small team has no sales assistant keeping track of whom to call. Follow-ups live in a notebook, on a sticky note or in someone's head, and after a busy week they are lost. When every follow-up goes into the system with a time and a reminder, nobody has to work from memory.

What does it look like in practice?

Details

Suppose an electrician in Pécs calls an enquirer who says: "we'll decide next week". Right after the call they type a short note and schedule the follow-up for a week later at 10 in the morning. They get a reminder the day before, and see the call together with the note.

How does HelloTeam CRM handle it?

Details

In HelloTeam every phone number has a call button. In the window that opens after the call you record whether you reached the customer, write a note and book the follow-up with a quick pick (tomorrow at 10:00 or in a week, for example), which lands on the contact as a task with a reminder.
